This question has come up in much discussion lately. Is CBD oil Legal? As I explained in an earlier post CBD oil is cannabidiol, an active compound found in hemp plants. Cannabidiols do not have any psychoactive properties like its cousin THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol). There are
complex methods involved in extracting the cbd oil and it can be extracted from THC free hemp plants. Marijuana strains of hemp contain THC.
Hence the saying “all marijuana is hemp but not all hemp is marijuana”. Do you understand that?
Used by itself as a dietary supplement or infused into a plethora of products, there is even a water product now, CBD is packed with vitamins to offer a wide range of natural therapeutic
benefits.
Our knowledge of cannabis CBD oil is far greater now than ever before. We are now realizing the powerful properties that cbd oil has to offer. Years of research indicate that the cannabinoids interact with our endocannabinoid system. Isn’t it amazing that we have a system in our bodies named for CBD’s. This system is responsible for regulating several biological processes such as sleeping, relaxing, inflammation responses and appetite. We have two Cannabinoid receptors CB1 and CB2 which in our cells all thru the body. CBD interacts with the system to provide the regulation of homeostasis which is the bodies state of balance.
CBD oil is legal in all 50 states as long as it is less than .03 percent THC and it is derived from hemp seed or the stalk of the plant. Most legal oil is imported except for those states that are allowing the growing for experimental purposes. The best imported oil is derived from the stalks of hemp that is a strain with no THC or very minimal amounts. The Federal Government considers this CBD oil from industrial hemp to be a dietary supplement not medicine also adding to it’s legal status!
When it come to the medicinal properties it has been found that the CBD oil from industrial hemp alone does not have the therapeutic effects that CBD/THC oil combinations have.It is also known that Cannabis has several hundred compounds that have medicinal qualities. So the Medical movement is in the direction of using the whole cannabis plant. Prohibitionists are grasping at the CBD only theory to keep THC illegal.
Scientific and clinical studies underscore CBD’s potential as a treatment for a wide range of conditions, including arthritis, diabetes, alcoholism, MS, chronic pain, schizophrenia, PTSD, antibiotic-resistant infections, epilepsy, and other neurological disorders. CBD has demonstrated neuroprotective and neurogenic effects, and its anti-cancer properties are currently being investigated at several academic research centers in the United States and elsewhere.
So a conclusion to the question, is CBD oil legal is yes. The use of it as a dietary supplement in all 50 states id ok. The use of it in Medical strengths is still limited to those states that it is legal in. There may be additional states after the election! see my previous story on the changes in the laws.
Get out and vote wherever you are but most importantly in those states that are trying to do the humane thing and make this medicine available to the masses!

I am interested in the use of cannabis as medicine. How is cbd oil made? You said it was extracted, but what is the process. Have you heard anything about GMO marijuana? I would love to see cannabis legalized, but I don’t want the government taking it over. They will just use it to make profit. I want to be able to grow my own plants without worrying about going to jail.
Thanks for reading. I am so interested in the medicinal properties of cannabis as I use both CBD and THC oil to relieve chronic pain. I have been off opiod meds for 5 years now and feel so much better. And a little euphoria never hurt anyone. The extraction process is an old but complicated process. It is similar to extracting oil from many other plants. New ways are being developed all the time. Basically the parts of the plant being used are pulverized, boiled and mixed with an agent to separate it. The most popular CBD oils come from the stalks and THC comes from the flowers. I am studying the process for an article right now and will be making a post on it soon. I am very interested in a new method that is using nano technology in the process’s so that’s what I will be focusing on. Lots of marijuana strains are GMO. That is how they are targeting certain compounds for specific treatments. It is also how they create the “feminized” seeds that produce only female plants.. Click on the Seed bank widget in my side bar and you can see all the different strains at the seed level!
